Menu functions are available along the top bar, as shown above. This topic considers those menu functions that are common
amongst all Cognisys products that use BioMedia.
In the File menu heading, the following menu items are found. In some products, such as the Feedback Media Platform, other file functions are available.
After you have found specific configuration settings that you wish to save, these
can be saved to a "Settings File". A Settings File can be loaded later to re-establish
the settings you have selected. For example, if you have several treatment protocols you
wish to utilize, each profile can be saved and reloaded later. When the settings are
loaded into the application, they are applied to the device but not "Saved". Click
"Save Settings" if you wish those to be saved in nonvolatile memory in the device.
Some products provide a settings menu heading. This heading is used for device-specific settings.
Sometimes an unusual situation occurs and our customer support staff needs
additional information diagnose the problem. To help us with this, we have
added this diagnostic dump function. This will dump the entire state of the device
into a file for our staff to review. You won't need to use this function in your
normal operation, and we hope it is one that is never used at all!
The Log File function logs your usage activity so our customer support staff can
diagnose a problem. Again, we expect that you'll never need this. To use it, click
Log File - Open..., (pick an arbitrary name) and go through the
steps you think should work and then close it.
Email that file to Cognisys customer support.
For many simple firmware enhancements, you can take advantage of this Firmware Upgrade
feature. Now, you no longer need to ship your unit back to our facility if there are corrections or
improvements to take advantage of. You can download the upgrade from our web site and install it using this
function.
Unfortunately, not all corrections or enhancements are simple enough for this function and in those cases,
we still will have to rework your unit in our customer support depot.
The serial number in the unit should match the number on the back panel of your
device. This is for your convenience so BioMedia can display the number in the
dialog box and in any reports you may submit to Customer Support.
This Menu heading provides version and release information on the BioMedia product itself.
This menu heading launches the Help application.
