BioPad Device Features

Look over the device to acquaint yourself with all the connectors and controls.
Your device may look slightly different from the picture shown here. Look carefully
at your device as you read the description.
- Power Indicator:
This LED simply indicates that power is being supplied to the unit.
- Sync/Test Button:
The Sync/Test button is necessary to resynchronize the state of the GameCube with the PLAY light.
You should insure as the subject starts to play the game that the PLAY light and
the state of the game are synchronized, i.e. PLAY light on, game playing, PLAY
light out, game paused. If it is not synchronized, simply press the SYNC button to resynchronize it.
We had to install some delays in the system to keep the game synchronized
irrespective of rapid changes on the control cable or delays in the game.
These delays are short and should not affect the feedback effectiveness.
- Play Indicator:
The PLAY light on the front panel will exactly follow the command from the control cable.
It does NOT change if you press the SYNC button to toggle the state of the game.
You will note that the hand controller is disabled when the PLAY light is out.
This is to keep a subject from simply pressing Start/Pause and restarting the game or making other menu selections.
- To GameCube/To JoyPad Cables:
The rear panel has two connectors on the ends of short cables, a Male and Female connector. One will plug into the GameCube console,
and the other accepts the male end from the hand-controller.
- Control Input:
The Control Input must be connected to one of the two connectors supplied. Use the left connector so that an Open circuit will cause
the game to play, the right if a Close Circuit should cause the game to play.
