Overview:

Step 1: Test Audio Output

Test that you can get SOUND during intervals when you want the DVD to play, and silence when you want it to PAUSE.

• Your Biofeedback System may be able to produce a solid tone or silence without any additional setup. If so, make sure you adjust it to modulate the Amplitude (volume) and not the Frequency (Note or Tone). We don't care what note you play, just how loud it is.
• Or, use the MIDI file: sbatone_pausable_8min.mid to produce these sounds. Try playing this MIDI file using Microsoft Media Player, or RealNetworks Real Player to test your sound output. (You should be able to double click the link above and listen to the tone.)

• Turn the volume up all the way on your PC volume control. It should be an obnoxious sound! Try clicking PLAY - STOP - PLAY - STOP and insure it is playing and pausing correctly.

Step 2: Connect CogniVideo

Step 3: Activate Audio Mode

Step 4: Test CogniVideo Response

Step 5: Test System Response

Notes:

Dynamic Threshold:

You will want to set up your Biofeedback software so that it uses a dynamic threshold, and set it so that your subject is 85% to 90% successful.

No Windowing:

It is best with the CogniVideo device if you use No Windowing in your Biofeedback software and allow the CogniVideo device to perform the windowing function. Therefore, we should receive sound whenever the subject is doing the "right" thing and silence when not.
