CogniVideo Tips: Thought Technology Ltd. Infiniti

Thought Technology Ltd. Procomp+ with Infiniti Software OR Infiniti HW and SW solution
In this case, you can use the Switch connector on the TT-USB module for direct logic control.
- Connect the Audio Cable from the TT-USB "Switch" output the Audio In
Connector of the CogniVideo. See Logic Control for more details.
- Infiniti Platform provides an extremely flexible method for combining constraints and creating
monitoring screens. In this abbreviated application note, it will not be possible to cover all the
possible configurations of the Infiniti Platform. Instead, a single setup is provided as a starting
point.
This setup is performed in the Screen Editor. To get started, click the Screen Editor icon on the Desktop or in the
Thought Technology directory. We will want to build a screen that is most suitable for you, the practitioner, as the
patient will be watching a DVD video or playing a game. Therefore, no "feedback" is provided on the screen you will be constructing.
- Overview: the screen you will create will provide feedback to the practioner only to monitor and assist with artifact rejection.
- Select Instruments: Place any number of instruments on the screen by
clicking on their instrument icons in the tool bar and then clicking on a blank area of the screen.
A list of data channels will appear. Select the channels that will be shown by the
instrument.
- Configure Instruments: Right-click on each instrument to configure display and feedback options
for the instrument, including the setting of thresholds.
Link Instruments: Click the Link icon to link instruments with Boolean conditions.
When a threshold is set on a display instrument, its Boolean output becomes enabled.
You likely want the patient to keep one type of electrical activity while suppressing another. When
both are true, the patient is "in the zone", so to speak.
Above is an example of a Link Dialog to work with three signals and produce a single on/off output.
Name this output so it can be used by the Switch instrument.
Connect the Switch Instrument: Click the Switch icon in the toolbar to add the switch instrument. This will open
a dialog box to allow configuration of this instrument.
- Instruments: Select one instrument that will control the switch. Usually, this will be the result of the
Linkage of other instruments if more than one is to control it, but control by a single instrument is
sometimes all that is necessary.
- Interface Switch for Encoder: Up to four individual switch outputs can be controlled. This selection
determines which physical port will be controlled by this software instrument. Normally 1.
- Interface Switch Control: This corresponds to the switch polarity. The CogniVideo also has such a setting, so only
one needs to be changed, if at all.
Click [OK] when you have completed your setup.
- Note: Set the default feedback on the switch embedded in the screen to "off" or "no feedback" so that the
signal turns the feedback ON, and when the signal was absent, it will be OFF.
- Test: An easy way to test the interface is to change the Polarity of the control using
the Interface Switch Control. Change from Normally on to Normally off, for example, and it should change the
state of the Audio Detect light on the CogniVideo device.
