The FMP device is programmed from the Factory to communicate with Toshiba DVD
players, since these are commonly used by our customers. However, we've found it
nearly impossible to keep up with the variety of DVD players and user's situations.
In the past, it was a very long and excruciating process to program our Universal Bio-Interface
product. The FMP product reduces the pain of this process substantially, and we provide
three methods to configure the FMP to your player.
No matter what method you choose to use, the IR Sequence is always stored in
nonvolatile memory in your FMP device, separately from any settings you may
choose to establish. A Factory Reset will return the device to the original
Toshiba programming.
Loading from Disk
One of the easiest ways to program your device is by simply loading a sequence
file from disk. If you were previously a user of our Universal Bio-Interface device, and
if you happen to know the code number, choose that file from the list.

This method requires that you have installed the BioMedia Application.
Capturing Using BioMedia
You can capture the infrared commands directly from your remote control. The recommended method
for doing this is using the BioMedia application. Again, this method requires the BioMedia Application.

Capturing Using Front Panel
If you do not run Windows, you will not be able to use the BioMedia Application. It is still possible
to capture custom sequences by utilizing Panel Controls. Further details...
Notes:
If you have any trouble capturing your command sequence, please let us know. We may be able to
support your player. Also, if you capture some custom command sequences, please email it to our
customer support department so we can include those sequences for other users.
Although our instructions says PLAY and PAUSE throughout, the FMP device is not
restricted to capturing those commands. If it can capture any of the commands for a
given controlled device, it will likely be able to capture any other single commands.
An example of an application that uses this feature is control of a Television Channel-UP
command. Connect biofeeback probes to eyebrow muscles and program PLAY to emit the
Channel-Up command. Disable PAUSE by checking the Disable Pause checkbox. Qualraplegics who
can move only an eyebrow can now change the TV channel by raising their eyebrow.
