The FMP device is quite versatile and easy to use for virtually any application because it
can record communication sequences from almost any remote control. We recommend that you
use the BioMedia application for this purpose, but if this is not available
(for example, if you are not running MS Windows), the FMP can still capture custom sequences.
Programming without using BioMedia requires interaction with the front panel, as follows:
- With the FMP running, press the Test Button and hold it for about 20 seconds.
- The Audio Detect Indicator
will start blinking once repeatedly (i.e. blink, gap, blink, gap). This means the
FMP device is expecting PLAY to be captured.
Press PLAY on the remote while shining into the
IR In Port in the front panel.
- If successful, the Audio Detect Indicator
will blink three times quickly. If it does not work, two long blinks will be shown.
- If that was successful, the Audio Detect Indicator
will blink twice repeatedly. (i.e. blink-blink, gap, blink-blink, gap). THis means the FMP
device is expecting PAUSE to be captured.
- Press PAUSE on the remote while shining into the IR In Port
on the front panel.
- If successful, Audio Detect Indicator
will blink three times quickly.
If it does not work, two long blinks will be shown.
Once you have recorded PLAY and PAUSE, these sequences are saved in nonvolatile
memory so they will not
be lost if you power-off the device.
This command-capturing capability will work for most
popular modern equipment. Please let us know
if you have any difficulty as we would like to try to be as compatible as possible.
