Some functions are available
from the front and rear panels. If the BioMedia Application does not run in your computer (say if you have an Apple, Unix, or Linux
computer), you can access many functions using the panels alone. These also work if you can install BioMedia.
Panel IR Capture: Capture Play/Pause using Panel controls
You will need to use this
method if you are a non-Windows user and if you are not using a compatible Toshiba DVD Player.
Details...
- Unplug the USB connector.
- Unplug the Audio Input Cable to insure silence is provided.
- Press and hold the Test Button
- Plug in the USB Cable.
- Release the Test Button
This performs a full
factory reset, returning all settings and IR Sequences to those provided at the factory. It also recalibrates the zero setting for silence.
This is an important last resort to get back to a known situation.
Controls the threshold for audio detection, and to
select Logic Control mode.
- To select Logic Control,
Turn the Threshold Knob
fully Clockwise. Connect the
Audio-In/Digital-In connector to
a digital source, either a open/closed switch, or a TTL digital signal.

- To use for Audio Control:
- start with the Threshold Knob set to
about halfway through the adjustment range.
- Apply the audio signal. See Audio Control
if you need more information on this step.
- Confirm that the Audio Detect Indicator
is lighted. If it is not, turn the Threshold Knob
"down", i.e. counterclockwise, until
the Audio Detect Indicator is lighted and is solid.
- Remove the audio signal.
- Confirm that the Audio Detect Indicator is extinguished.
- If it is not, turn the Threshold Knob "up", i.e. clockwise, until it is no longer lighted.
- Repeat until the light is stable and sure. If it blinks, try using a louder audio source.

In the BioMedia application, if the Input Mode is not Sound/Silence Detection or
if Override Knob Threshold is checked, the Threshold Knob is ignored.
